Colin mcrae dirt 2 steam9/5/2023 ![]() In my custom profile I’ve tried to have a bit of a pop-out effect, but not too much and of course to have more noticeable depth on the objects that are closer to you like your car for instance and of course the different things in the menus. So download and try the profile I’ve made with my custom settings and share your thoughts about it… The menus are closer to you without objects far from your reach and in the races you have both very close and very far objects which is making it hard to use just a single convergence/depth profile for them, but it is not impossible. ![]() ![]() Something interesting that is worth mentioning is that all the in-game menus are in 3D, which is nice, but also creates an issue for correctly playing back the game in both the menu and the races. It is a shame that you should sacrifice some of them to make the game look better in stereoscopic 3D… So stay away from that, although it might make the game look better without you loosing too much frames as Dirt 2 seems to be not that heavy for the GPU although it does look quite nice in terms of graphics and effects. You should stay away from the Multisampling option (AA) as if you enable some additional filtering you’ll also start seeing some weird dark lines on your car as reflections, without AA enabled they are not present. Unfortunately that does not fix all the possible issues that you might notice when playing the game with your 3D Vision setup in S3D mode… Of course if it does not bother you much you can still play with High settings for the Shadows so do try it yourself to see which one is Ok for you. When setting up the game you should change the Shadow option to Ultra Low in order to minimize some weird effects you might otherwise see around some moving objects, caused of course by their shadows not being rendered correctly in stereoscopic 3D mode. There are also some other weird things that I’ve found out in the game when running in Stereoscopic 3D mode, that I’ll mention in a minute… No profile for the game is present in the 3D Vision drivers for the moment and the convergence level is totally messed up by default. The demo of the Game Colin McRae: Dirt 2 is out in the wild and I was eager to try it out with 3D Vision (way more than to see some DX 11 effects!), but I was a bit disappointed from the first results. – The game Dirt 2 is currently available for just $29 USD at Amazon…Ĭomments Off on DiRT 2 With a Patch Including Fixes for Nvidia 3D Vision Support Tags: 3d vision Nevertheless you should update the game to the latest version and you can report your results after that how it is handling in stereoscopic 3D mode with 3D Vision… The issues were mostly with the shadows and when using AA, so these should be addressed in the patch, but I still haven’t personally tested if all problems are fixed. Back in December I’ve written about the issues the game has when played in stereo 3D mode with 3D Vision, along with a custom convergence profiles. The game DiRT2 just got an update that gets installed automatically over Steam or GFWL that offers some general improvements and fixes in the game performance and compatibility along with some fixes to improve NVIDIA 3D Vision support according to the release notes.
